Open to students grades 7th-12th, our After School programis an immersive Fashion Experience that taps into our youth's natural desire to express themselves through clothing in a fun and stimulating environment that encourages creative visioning and self-expression. Students will learn how to ideate, sketch, sew and embellish their own stylish wearable product, while laying a foundation of practical skills that will last a lifetime.
With a focus on hands-on, in-person learning, our after school program takes place Thursday's and Friday's, 4p-6p at The House of (DE-FI)ance: A Fashion & Design Coworking Experience located inside of the Dayton Mall. Students will learn and develop diverse skills needed for careers in the Fashion industry from design to business, produce and participate in the inaugural Urban Nights Fashion Experience and Dayton Fashion Week, create their own style by designing and making your own clothes, publish your own magazine, and more.
The claims were made that Dayton’s original Urban Nights was cancelled due to unruly youth; Urban Nights by the House of (DE-FI)ance is designed to #Disrupt that narrative. The youth weren’t unruly, they were bored and left out of the planning equation. Urban Nights is a Collabetive Collabetation Project opportunity that is volunteer driven and gives participants an opportunity to organize a twice a year fashion and philanthropy experience featuring the work of area youth during a full scale runway production.

As a volunteer run organization, we do not want to turn anyone away based on their inability to pay. We did everything in our power to make this fashion camp experience as affordable as possible, however, we understand that this price is still not affordable for many. Your donation will help ensure that every child that wants to participate in the camp is able to participate.
